When My Husband Requested My Stitch Fix

For my birthday Fix (Fix #7!), I wanted to try something different. I asked my husband if he would be interested in writing my pre-Fix note for me, and requesting whatever he wanted. At first he didn’t seem crazy about the idea, but he ended up warming up to it!

Stitch Fix is a personalized shopping service where a stylist hand-selects 5 items for you based on your style profile settings and preferences, requests, and your personal Pinterest board. You try the items on in your home with your own wardrobe, and then keep what you like and send back what you don’t. If you keep all 5 items, you receive a 25% off discount. To get a more thorough breakdown, check out this post here.

Anyway, back to this Fix. My husband kept his pre-Fix note as a secret, and I didn’t even peek! My only request was that he would ask for Sara as my stylist (because she’s awesome!). Later, I found out what he had written (picture edited to remove my husband’s email):

He really took his job as Stitch Fix-requester seriously! My stylist, Sara, knocked it out of the park with her selections. She took into consideration all of my husband’s (although his name is David, not Adam!) requests, and her note shows her attention to detail:

And, without further ado:

This top is super stretchy and soft. It reminds me a lot of a longer version of the High-Low top I received in my second Fix. I love the open back detail!

2) Collective Concepts Lune Split Back Blouse ($58)

I’m on the fence about this blouse. It’s definitely out of my comfort zone, but I’m not sure if I would reach for the top because of the split back and the graphic black and white pattern.

3) Loveappella Dolli Mesh Detail Knit Top ($54)

Like basically everything else I’ve gotten from Stitch Fix, this top is super super soft. The subtleness of the mesh fabric down the sleeves is very different from anything else I have in my closet.

4) Kut from the Kloth Danny Knit Pant ($68)

Sara mentioned in her note that these pants were the same as the red KFTK knit pants I received in my last Fix, but I think they’re even better! The black is a lot more versatile, too, and I’m excited to incorporate black pants into my wardrobe again.

and my absolute favorite…

5) Kut from the Kloth Leland Dress ($98)

I adore this dress! We don’t have any anniversary plans in the works just yet (2 years on March 22!), but now I think we’re going to have to go somewhere a little fancy 🙂 The fabric is so soft and comfortable that it feels like you’re wearing pajamas, and I love the color!

That’s it! It’s definitely a 3/5, and possibly a full 5/5. I might just have to have my husband write all of my pre-Fix notes from now on!!

I love this idea. I took my husbands advice about three fixes ago to request less. He said they would get better and they did. He was right. Might let him try this next time.

    • That’s great! Yes maybe you should, he might surprise you! 🙂

  • Great fix! I would keep it all if I were you. I’ll have to pin that windowpane split back top. I’d like that! I love your leopard flats. I have a pair – they are way more neutral than I thought they’d be! 🙂

    • I’m leaning towards keeping it all! And thank you! I agree, I’ve been surprised at how often I wear them. Thanks for stopping by!

  • This is so cute! I think all the pieces look great on you and I love the fact that your husband did this and even created a pinterest board! Adorable.

    • Thank you so much! I was very impressed with his efforts. Thanks for reading 🙂

  • This whole fix is amazing. Maybe we should all have our men style a fix for us. Your husband did a wonderful job!

    • I know! I’m having him request my next Fix to see if it should be his full-time gig 🙂

  • I love this! I’m trying to get something a little more sexy from Stitch Fix this month without being over the top so this provided me with some great options to pin!

    • I’m glad to hear it, Becky! I cannot say enough great things about the Leland Dress! It’s so so comfy yet elegant. Pin away! 🙂

That red dress is adorable on you and I would love to have it myself. So cute!
