Trendy Butler: My Husband’s Turn to Be Styled

After months of taking pictures of me for my Stitch Fix and Trunk Club reviews, my husband David finally had his turn to be styled and photographed! Thanks to our friends over at Trendy Butler, he was sent a custom box of clothing this month.

How Does It Work?

Trendy Butler works similar to Stitch Fix in terms of filling out a style profile. You answer questions about your style preferences covering colors, styles, fit and of course sizes.

One big difference compared to other clothing services is that instead of paying for what you want to keep, you pay a flat rate. For only $65 per month, you receive 2-3 items worth a total of $150+.

David’s 1st Trendy Butler Experience

It was fun to ask David some style questions about himself for a change! His style is pretty simple, casual and laid back (think Old Navy, Gap, and workout clothes), so we were excited to see what the stylists over at Trendy Butler would select for him.

Kinetix Casual Luxury Tee

This shirt is made out of a very thin, lightweight material (50% Polyester & 50% Cotton). David was a little thrown off by the length (it’s pretty long for a t-shirt) and the small outer tag in the bottom corner that’s covered up by his hand in the photos.

The fabric and the cut were super comfortable, however, and it definitely fits his relaxed style while still adding a twist to it.

Howe Flannel Button Down

David had a lot of fun posing for the camera… he’s by no means camera shy!

To be honest, this Howe flannel button down confused us both. Early April isn’t really my flannel-shopping time of year. On the other hand, style-wise this is something David would wear in the fall or winter. It’s a good quality, well-made shirt.

Unfortunately, as you can tell from the pictures, it’s a little small. With his long arms, David usually ends up with button down shirts that permanently stay rolled so you can’t tell that the arms are actually a little too short, but this shirt is also a little short in the torso as well.

Kinetix Casual Luxury Pullover

This lightweight pullover was David’s favorite piece from the Trendy Butler package. Like the Kinetix Casual Luxury Tee, this pullover is very lightweight and relaxed. It does have a small zipper element on either side, which is a unique detail. While David thinks he might need to size up in this one, I almost think this one will do. What do you think?

Exchange Policy

You can read about Trendy Butler’s exchange policy here. Basically, Trendy Butler allows you to exchange one item per package for style issues (aka you don’t like it) and exchange any item for sizing issues. Because it is a flat rate monthly subscription services, exchanges are not for refunds – they are instead for replacement credits that you can apply towards a future package.

The Verdict?

We enjoyed having the opportunity to try out Trendy Butler’s service. The process of filling out a style profile and signing up was super quick and easy (and painless!) and we received some items that David probably wouldn’t have picked for himself (besides the gray pullover).

Like my Stitch Fix boxes and Trunk Club trunks, the added convenience of being sent items by a stylist instead of spending time in a physical store makes the whole experience that much better. My husband has about a million things he’d rather be doing than shopping for clothes, so Trendy Butler provides the perfect solution for getting him out of his comfort zone and expanding his wardrobe. Who knows, maybe David will become as addicted to clothing subscription services as I am! 🙂
