If you read my last Trunk Club post, you already know that my sister Callie is interning at Trunk Club this summer. She knows all things fashion and style, and you’d be missing out if you don’t give her the chance to send you a Trunk before she leaves! You can get started with her using this referral link.
Prior to this Trunk, I told Callie to basically surprise me – but that I didn’t need any swim suits or shoes. When I received my preview, I was excited to get the Trunk! I only took out a few things based on the preview, but primarily because I already owned similar items. You can check out this post to get a full breakdown on how Trunk Club works, or this one to see how it compares to Stitch Fix.
Because this Trunk didn’t have any shoe boxes, it was teeny tiny compared to previous ones! After I got it open, though, the colors and textures were just as great if not better.
Now to the fun part! Here were my favorites from Trunk #5:
Trouve Twist Back Dress in Olive ($78)
While I liked the color and simplicity of this dress, it was incredibly static-y. I could have attempted to use Static Guard or a similar product, but those haven’t worked for me in the past and I knew I ultimately wouldn’t end up reaching for this piece. Verdict: Returned
Free People ‘Long Beach’ Tank in Orange ($20) & BlankNYC ‘Hotel’ Distressed Skinny Jeans ($88 but on sale)
Top: I actually received this same top in my last Trunk in a different color, but loved the cut and the price. Having it in orange will be perfect for upcoming TN football games this fall! Jeans: I’m still amazed that people can send me clothes in the mail that fit my body when I can’t do the same after a full day of shopping. These jeans fit perfectly, were buttery soft, and ended up going on sale while I had the Trunk! Verdict: KEPT BOTH
Pleione Bell Sleeve Print Chiffon Blouse ($59) & BlankNYC Distressed Skinny Jeans ($88)
When I pulled this top out of the Trunk, I really liked the colors. After trying it on and seeing pictures of me in it, though, I wasn’t convinced that it was the most flattering. Verdict: Returned
Seoul Little ‘Tropical Duo’ Stud Earrings ($48)
These were the teeniest, cutest earrings I’ve ever seen. I’m not one to splurge on jewelry (and especially not earrings), but all of my purchases from this Trunk are coming from credit that I have stored up, so I figured it was worth a splurge this time! Verdict: KEPT
Felicity & CoCo Printed Maxi Dress ($88)
I was excited to receive another maxi dress, and loved the colors and pattern of this one. The material is super, super soft and the dress itself is just so comfortable. I wasn’t completely sold on the waist, though, so this one went back. Verdict: Returned
Treasure & Bond Split Back Tank ($44)
I really liked this top in the preview, and when I pulled it out of the Trunk – until I realized it was a split back tank. A lot of people can pull off the split back look, but it’s not for me. Verdict: Returned
Felicity & CoCo Stripe Short Sleeve Sheath Dress ($98)
This would be such a great piece for the office! It’s a sturdy, thicker material that provides structure without taking away from how comfortable it is. I like the contrast of the high neckline versus the lower back, but this just wasn’t a piece that I need in my closet right now. Verdict: Returned
Topshop Double Strap V Back Camisole ($30)
I really liked the simplicity (and price!) of this tank top. I also really like the back detail of the extra strap! Verdict: KEPT
