A few months ago, I wrote a blog post on how to Style your Carly Dress. Now that I’ve been a LuLaRoe retailer for almost a year, I’ve discovered even more ways to style this comfortable, flowy swing dress!
If you haven’t tried a Carly dress before, this style has short sleeves, a deep high-low hemline, and a small patch pocket. This dress runs bigger, and you’ll want to size down 1-3 sizes from your normal dress size (like with the Irma).
First up are knots. Knots are a fun way to mix up your LuLaRoe pieces. You can tie a knot, create a shape, twist the fabric… the list goes on and on. The best way to learn what style you like the best is to play with the fabric in front of a mirror! Tutorials are great, but practicing is the only way you’ll figure out which type of knot you love the best.

I’ll be posting a better tutorial of this super cute rose knot soon, but for now here’s how to get this look!
- Pull a large section of fabric out on your Carly dress
- Tie off the fabric using a rubber band like you’re making a ponytail
- Fluff out and flatten the fabric
- Tie a second rubber band on top of the flattened fabric, around the first rubber band knot
- Straighten out the fabric and voilá! You’ve got a rose knot!
I talk about the versatility of LuLaRoe clothes ALL the time. Combining the different styles makes for the perfect capsule wardrobe. I’ve recently discovered that you can basically layer any LuLaRoe shirt style over the Carly dress.
If you have a lot of printed pieces in your closet, try your hand at pattern mixing. One of the easiest rule of thumbs is to combine a small pattern with a large pattern. A skinny microstripe top, for example, paired with a skirt with large flowers would be a great way to go!
